Finding Happiness
I have heard it described as Ikigai, a reason for being. No fancy words are needed to describe this thing. In fact, I may not be able to describe it at all. It's like Solomon trying to describe wisdom. I know today I am content, fulfilled, warm and happy. I have a mission and a purpose everyday of my life. When I chose to be a freelance writer I just knew it was what I was supposed to be doing. I know because I know I know.
It is an inner contentment and a blessed assurance that everything is going to be okay. As if I am fulfilling my destiny. My reality and perspective are more positive and I have nothing to complain about. Even going out alone to places no longer bothers me and I am smiling and enjoying my freedom on a daily basis as the Ikigai settles into my being.
I am sure the weather in Florida is responsible for a portion of being happy, but its not the full story. As I settle into my destiny and purpose, all things including my dreams fall into a perfect puzzle that will one day create a beautiful picture. I didn't really sacrifice anything, I just took responsibility for making sure I do the right things and make the better choice.
The benefits are coming to fruition and are seen in the joy, love, compassion and confidence one carries when things are as they should be. This is an inner peace and that is where I found it. It did not come from a preacher, a guru, a friend, a lover or my children but from within ME. And that is the one thing I would wrap up and give to the world if I could. I don't use Ikigai to promote business but to promote a good life worth living. No-one can bring it to another, it has to be sought and found in the light within. Its a great insight.
